About Us

Our Story

Founded in 2020, Walkabout Exploration started as a student-owned business, and has since evolved into a comprehensive prospecting and exploration company. With numerous properties in British Columbia, we focus on underexplored regions and unique exploration models to generate new greenfield targets and highlight missed opportunities. With a diverse background in planetary science, mapping, and geospatial analysis, we leverage an interdisciplinary approach that provides unique exploration insight.

Ethics and Compliance

Walkabout Exploration is not a registered firm with Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC), and no staff members currently hold a P.Geo or P.Eng. As such, we cannot provide certain services as defined in the Professional Governance Act and in some situations we may require clients to retain the services of a Professional Geoscientist to oversee our work. For more information, please contact us.

We recognize the importance of reconciliation and are committed to meaningful community engagement during the prospecting process.

Our Team

Lindsay Richards holds a BSc in Geoscience from Vancouver Island University and has over five years of experience as a prospector in BC. He has worked with a range of exploration companies and geological service providers conducting mapping and sampling, developing AI targeting models, and validating new exploration techniques. He has also worked with NASA, the European space agency, and several private companies to research space mining and develop new techniques for exploration vectoring in space.

Taralynne Richards is a red seal hairdresser and assists part-time as a field assistant. With nearly two decades of experience in BC bush, Taralynne excels at finding routes to inaccessible areas, managing logistics, and locating hidden showings. When not prospecting, she owns and manages a hair salon in Shawnigan Lake, BC.
